LAUNCH OF GISTECH-I ON OCTOBER 26TH VIA VIDEO CONFERENCE PAKISTANI ENTREPRENEURS COULD WIN US $ 20,000 OR OTHER CASH PRIZES

MIT Enterprise Forum of Pakistan (MITEFP) proudly announces that it has been selected by CRDF Global as its partner in Pakistan for GIST (Global Innovation through Science and Technology) Initiative. The first program that is being launched in Pakistan, under this partnership, is the GISTech-I which is a technology Idea Competition. At the launch we will have an Elevator Pitch workshop which would be held at 2 PM on October 26th, 2011, at IBA Main Campus Video Conference hall ( Room M-1 Academic Block). The event would be broadcast live to other universities through Video Conference.

CRDF Global, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to international science cooperation and technology commercialization, has launched a new initiative to advance scientific and technological collaboration between the United States and nations in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region and South and Central Asia. The Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of State. GIST is one of the primary initiatives to be implemented following the proposals announced by U.S. President Barack Obama in Cairo in June 2009.

CRDF Global invites all interested innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs from MENA and South and Central Asia regions to participate in this first-ever multinational technology idea competition. GISTech-I is open to individual applicants or teams of individuals who have innovative ideas that have potential to become technology solutions to critical problems in sectors such as information and communication technologies (ICTs), energy, health, agriculture or other related areas.

Even though we are joining in quite late, as the process of registration for GISTech-I had started in July and the final submission date of October 31st, 2011 is extremely short. MITEFP would like to get a large number of the applications from Pakistan. For this we would be conducting an Elevator Pitch workshop via video conferencing through out Pakistan at 2 PM on October 26th via video conference from the IBA Main Campus video conference center. Your facility is atSEECS Seminar Hall.
